Trail Updates - Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest

In the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, volunteer groups are working with the forest service to improve trails.

TRAIL CLEARING VOLUNTEER GROUPS:
Ashland Woodlands & Trail Association: Building a comprehensive system of trails and open space encircling Ashland. http://www.ashlandtrails.org/
Siskiyou Mountain Club: To promote, enhance and maintain primitive outdoor destinations in the Siskiyou backcountry. http://www.siskiyoumountainclub.org/
Siskiyou Uplands Trails Association:
Proposes building a trail system from Ashland to Jacksonville, Oregon, called the Jack-Ash Trail. Includes work building the Sterling Gulch Trail on BLM land. http://sutaoregon.org/

CLOSED TRAILS:
The Fiddler Gulch Trail and Fall Creek Trail are two trails that are disappearing.
The Silver Creek Trail #1134 and Silver Creek Falls Overlook Trail #1134A are officially closed due to problems with the owner of the Silver Creek inholding.
The Red Blanket Trail is closed due to massive damage sustained by a severe weather event, which caused multiple debris torrents.

RECENTLY MAINTAINED TRAILS: * Some obstacles still exist. Work below done by Siskiyou Mountain Club.

KSTRAILS works to assess trail conditions for historic and current trails, based in the Illinois River Valley of sw Oregon. The project is an all volunteer - work in progress.
