Celebrating the completion of the expansion of the Mount Mitchell Heritage Prairie Park and the 20th Anniversary of the Mount Mitchell Prairie Guards. A day to celebrate history, nature, art and community at the historic Mitchell Farmstead and the Mount Mitchell Heritage Prairie Park, recognized sites of the National Park Service’s Network to Freedom Program commemorating the Underground Railroad.

The Mount Mitchell Heritage Prairie Park is located at 29000 Mt. Mitchell Road, Wamego, KS, 66547, the farmstead address is 29213. Mt. Mitchell Road is located three miles south of the Wamego Bridge or 6 miles north of 99/I-70 Exit #328. Turn east onto Mt. Mitchell Rd. at the junction of Highways 99 and 18.
