Kansas carries a replica of the Declaration of Independence 575 miles across our State on foot, by bike, and on horseback as part of the coast-to-coast American Discovery Trail 250 Relay.
One hand passes it to the next, town by town, all the way across Kansas.

STEP ONE
CLAIM YOUR MILES
Sign up your organization, town, or group of friends for a stretch of the route or an exchange point through The Sunflower Stretch map (click the link below).
STEP TWO
REGISTER AT AMERICAN TRAILS
Because KTI is facilitating the Sunflower Stretch, but its HOSTED by American Trails, you’ll need to visit the ADT 250 link below to complete registration on its site… and this ENSURES you’ll receive a commemorative medal!
STEP THREE
BUILD YOUR TEAM
Once you sign up, you’ll receive your toolkit to recruit participants and promote the event on your social media throughout your community, County and State! Please be sure to have each participant register for the ADT250.

SHOW UP IN SEPTEMBER

How do I follow the relay trail on my phone?"
Yes!! Download the Map App by visiting https://map.kstrails.org/ on your phone, tap “Install on Your Device,” and follow the prompts for iPhone or Android. The app will keep you on route on the Sunflower Stretch in real time.
What if it rains?
The ADT 250 – Sunflower Stretch is rain or shine so be ready!!
Will there be other participants on my segment?
It is highly likely that there will others on your segment, but not guaranteed
Are there public restrooms?
Many of the segments have hosted rest stops, but restrooms are not guaranteed. There are several public facilities along the Flint Hills Trail, but be sure to do your research prior to departing!
Can I register for more than one segment?
Absolutely! We’d love for you to register for as many segments as you want and are able to complete!
